I don't know about you all but a new year makes me want to clean and reorganize! There are several switches I have made (slowly) throughout the last few years that I have recognized are actually pretty easy and WAY cheaper. I have a desire to continually simplify my life, make my home less toxic, and to be more sustainable. This is the life of our ancestors and I think they were on to something wholesome... and I want IN!
WHY SWITCH??
Let's talk about WHY you should be considering removing these harsh chemical cleaners from your home. For which, you may be wondering, "Why should I care about that? I'm not ingesting them."
Here is why you should switch to cleaner cleaners:
These chemicals are on our counter tops, our clothes, and get sprayed into the air. This gets absorbed through our skin and our lungs. Which in turn effects our brain, skin, lungs, digestive system, and endocrine system! The left over chemicals is dumped into our liver, this leads to toxic liver burden. When our liver is burdened and other bodily systems are disrupted it can lead to a lot of problems you wouldn't think would be connected to cleaning supplies, but its extremely common. It's like a machine that is struggling to run already and then we throw a wrench into a gear and it throws everything off; the wrench are chemicals, products we use on our body, and wash our clothes with.
It can lead to:
Migraines
Hormonal imbalances
Thyroid disorders
Digestive issues
Brain fog
Fatigue
Skin issues
SO many more
Just because you don't ingest them doesn't mean you and your family aren't putting them in your body. Keep that in mind next time you clean your bathtub with a bleach based product or spray Febreze in the air.
